YouTube is the fastest-growing and popular online music video-sharing platform owned by Google. It is the second most visited website currently in the world, with more than a billion users monthly who watch more than a billion hours of videos each day. It is usually driven by two types of users: Video Creators and Video Viewers. You can both be a viewer and creator. You just need a Google account so that you can create a Youtube account to watch videos or upload your own content.

Many users face the experience of prompt messages saying “Video Paused. Continue Watching?” on Youtube. It is common for users to receive this message while playing videos in the background.

Why Does YouTube Show “Are You Still Watching” Message

Youtube figures out when you minimize the browser, so it sends you the prompt message. If you’re watching a video in the background and it gets paused, but if you’re busy doing something else, you may not be able to hit play again.

Videos that aren’t being watched result in no traffic and no ad revenue. This is why YouTube implemented this feature. But unfortunately, from a user’s point of view, the feature is really annoying.
